◆ Why RSDiag

A flasher that refuses to brick your ECU

RSDiag started from a simple frustration: powerful tuning tools that treat safety as an afterthought. We build the safety in first, then everything else on top of it.

Flashing a diesel ECU is a moment with no undo. Once the calibration is erased, the vehicle won’t start until a correct image is written back. Most bricks don’t come from bad tunes — they come from the wrong file, an interrupted session, or a checksum that was never valid in the first place.

So RSDiag is organised around the erase. Before that point of no return, the core checks that the file belongs to the connected unit, that the block is one it actually understands, and that the checksum will boot. Only then does it arm the write. Afterwards, it reads the calibration back and confirms every changed byte landed — a real result, not a hopeful one.

We’d rather cover a focused range of BMW engines deeply and correctly than claim a long list we can’t stand behind. Every write profile we release is proven on real hardware.

Principles

How we build

Safety lives in the core

The gates that protect an ECU run inside the engine, not the interface — so they can’t be skipped by a stray tap.

Proven on hardware

A feature ships when it works on a real control unit — not when it looks right on the bench.

Honest results

If a write didn’t fully land, you’ll know. Verification is not optional and not hidden.

Focused coverage

Deep, verified support for BMW M47 and M57 diesel vehicles — quality over a long, shaky list.
